USA: White collar axe falls at D-C today
Most of the Chrysler Group's 2,700 white-collar layoffs are expected today, two weeks before the company's self-imposed March 30 deadline, the Detroit Free Press reported. The newspaper said that spokespersons for the U.S. arm of DaimlerChrysler AG would not confirm that today is layoff day, but several workers who spoke to the Free Press said it will be today.
