BRAZIL: VW to share Polo modular assembly with seven suppliers
Volkswagen is to use a modular system to produce the new Polo in Brazil with seven parts suppliers occupying assembly line stations in the Anchieta plant in São Bernardo do Campo city, São Paulo state, writes Rogério Louro Alves. Each supplier will be responsible for a complete set of components for the Brazilian-made Polo which goes into production in 2002.
