GERMANY: VW to increase diesel engine production
Germany's Volkswagen plans to increase diesel engine production by up to 15 percent in the next two years, to meet growing demand and increase its market lead. According to Karl-Heinz Neumann, head of the powertrain division, the car manufacturer is aiming to build two million engines within the next two to three years, compared with 1.7 million last year.
