GERMANY: VW fined 90m euro for anti-competitive behaviour.
German auto maker has been fined a record 90m euro ($86m/£57m) for anti-competitive behaviour. The fine, imposed by the European Commission, originally totalled 102m euro, but the European Court of Justice cut the amount to today`s figure. The penalty was in response to VW preventing both German and Austrian customers from buying their cars in Italy, where prices for VW cars are said to be lower.
