SWEDEN: Volvo Trucks’ sales fall 8% to 105,888 units in 2012

Deliveries from Volvo Trucks in December decreased by 18% to 9,798 vehicles compared with the same month last year. For the full year 2012, deliveries decreased by 8% to 105,888 trucks.

In Europe, deliveries decreased by 8% to 4,026 trucks in total compared to December last year, due to the continued economic uncertainty.

December deliveries in Asia amounted to 1,520 units in total, a decrease of 17% compared to the same month last year.

December deliveries in North America decreased 13% to 2,338 vehicles in comparison with the same period in 2011. Customers continued to delay purchases as a result of ongoing economic uncertainty both in the U.S. and globally.

In Brazil, the weak economy continued to impact deliveries. Overall deliveries in South America decreased 39% to 1,587 vehicles.
