Deliveries of Volvo Trucks fell 21% year on year in January to 2.646 units due to what the manufacturer called "the restructuring of the production system".

In Western Europe, deliveries decreased 17% to 2,286 trucks. Eastern Europe, however, saw an increase of 73% to 360 units.

Deliveries decreased in North and South America and in Asia too. In North America, deliveries decreased by 7% to 2,307 trucks (2,487). In South America and Asia, there was a decrease of 35% (327 vehicles) and 65% (512 vehicles) respectively.

"The decline is partly a result of lower demand in Middle East and partly a consequence of the production changeover in the European industrial system for the new Volvo FH and Volvo FM," Volvo said in a statement.
