EXCLUSIVE: BRAZIL: Volkswagen doubles 2000 exports
Volkswagen exported 115,000 Brazilian-made vehicles last year, an increase of 117 percent over the 53,000 units shipped in 1999, writes Rogério Louro Alves. Receipts of $US1 billion from cars dispatched to 31 countries made Volkswagen of Brazil the countrys leading vehicle exporter. Mexico alone accounted for 73,765 units or 64 percent.
