UK: UK worker transfer in GM/Fiat venture.
General Motor`s British subsidiary Vauxhall, is to transfer 10% of its workforce from its North West plant in a new joint GM-Fiat operated venture, according to the Financial Times (22/6/00). The plan, likely to see about 500 engine operation workers from Ellesmere Port allocated to either Turin or Russelsheim near Frankfurt, is in response to a new powertrain project.
