JAPAN: Typhoon halts car production
Toyota and Honda suspended car production late Tuesday at their plants in the Tokai region in central Japan as a powerful typhoon struck the area, Kyodo News reported. Toyota suspended production at its 12 assembly plants in Aichi Prefecture from late Tuesday afternoon to midnight due to safety concerns, while Honda suspended car production at its Suzuka plant in Mie Prefecture on Tuesday. However, production at all the plants was resumed as usual Wednesday morning, Kyodo said.
