Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported October vehicle sales of 123,920, down 5.7 percent from last year's record-setting October. Calendar-year-to-date (CYTD) sales total 1,359,200, an increase of 126,209 units, or 9.8 percent compared to the same period last year. "The economy's smooth transition from express train to commuter train will continue to keep consumer confidence positive and industry sales strong," said Jim Press, TMS executive vice president. "Even though the growth rate may moderate, industry sales will be strong and sustainable well into next year."
