Reports in Taiwan say that US-based electric car maker Tesla Motors is planning to increase its supply of parts from Taiwanese suppliers.

Industry sources in Taiwan suggest that the increase follows attempts by Taiwan's government agencies to attract more investments from Tesla to the island.

Tesla already purchases electric motors, various sub-assemblies and power controllers locally.

Tesla's increasing production is expected to further raise its parts procurements from the island.

Tesla Motors purchases power controllers from local Delta Electronics, Inc. and Chroma ATE Inc., as well as motors from Gongin Precision Ind. Co., Ltd., Fukuta Elec. & Mach. Co., Ltd.
