The newspaper said that 1,900 factory workers had been worried that Ford would
close the plant after it redesigns the Ranger in a few years.
Before meeting the governor, Ford, in town for his company's annual meeting, spent about 90 minutes touring the plant and meeting management and union leaders, the Star Tribune said.
