USA: Settling Clean Air Act suit will cost Toyota $US34 million - report
Toyota has reached a settlement with the US government in a Clean Air Act lawsuit under which it will pay about $US34 million to improve anti-pollution measures, the Justice Department said, according to Reuters. Reuters said that under the settlement, Toyota will spend about $20 million to retrofit as many as 3,000 public diesel fleet vehicles to make them run cleaner and extend the emission control system warranty on the affected vehicles.
