SOUTH KOREA: Renault Samsung first foreign manufacturers association member
Renault Samsung is the first foreign-controlled member of the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, according to the organisation which represents vehicle makers' interests. The association said that Renault Samsung Motors, in which France's Renault has a 70 percent stake, had been approved for membership. The lobby group was formed in 1988 by other South Korean car makers including Hyundai.
