UK: Range Rover prices, specifications announced
Land Rover, the British SUV maker in Ford's Premier Automotive Group, has announced the UK prices and model range for the new Range Rover.
Three versions -- the SE, HSE and Vogue -- will all be available with either the BMW-built Td6 six-cylinder diesel or V8 petrol engine. Prices start at £42,995 ($US62,180) for the Td6 SE -- the same price as the outgoing entry level model -- rising to £59,995 ($US86,765) for the flagship V8 Vogue.
The new range goes on sale on 15 March 2002.
The £42,995 SE Td6 diesel and £49,995 SE V8 petrol models have standard power-adjust leather seats, leather rim steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, cruise control and six-speaker audio with single CD. Standard safety features include eight airbags, including rear passenger seat head airbags, and a tyre pressure monitor.
The £45,995 Td6 HSE and £52,995 V8 HSE models add seat adjustment memory linked to the steering column and auto-dim door mirrors, cherry wood or walnut facia trim (silver 'Foundry' finish is the base trim), upgraded 11-speaker audio, glovebox-mounted CD autochanger, rain sensing windscreen wipers, park distance control and bi-xenon headlamps.
Top-spec Vogue models (£51,995 diesel, £59,995 petrol) have Oxford leather 'Comfort' front seats, heated rear seats and heated steering wheel rim, 12-speaker audio with Digital Sound Processing (DSP), widescreen TV and satellite navigation system, trip computer, electric sun roof, rear seat ski bag and dual blade sun visors.
The new Range Rover will be offered with a choice of 12 exterior and seven interior colours.
