MALAYSIA: Proton raises stake in Lotus to 95.65%
Dow Jones reports that Malaysia's national carmaker Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd., or Proton, has said it has raised its stake in the UK-based sports car and engineering group, Lotus Group International to 95.65% from 80%. Dow Jones says Proton now owns 44 million shares in Lotus, up from 8 million shares, following a rights offering by Lotus, Proton said in a brief statement to the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
