LA SHOW PREVIEW: Production Karma to debut at LA
Karma production by Valmet ramps up in Q1 of next year
The first factory-built Fisker Karma will make its North American debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show November 17-28.
Fisker has said it will build about 100 of the luxury Karma plug-in hybrid cars this year through Finland-based Valmet, with production ramping up next year.
Fisker claims that its Karma vehicle 'eliminates range anxiety' with a 300 mile (480 km) range.
“The Fisker Karma represents our goal of bringing an eco-friendly vehicle founded on the principals of ‘Pure Driving Passion’ to consumers around the world,” said Henrik Fisker, CEO.
“As a centre for style and culture made up of people who are proud to express their personalities and their concern for the environment, Los Angeles is the perfect place for the Karma to make its North American debut.”
Series production of Fisker Karma hybrids by Valmet is due to start in the first quarter of 2011, with volume planned in excess of 10,000 units a year.
