USA: Polk study shows light trucks popular among 'baby boomers'
Light trucks are becoming increasingly popular among 'Baby Boomers', according to a new study by Polk. The study shows that sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks accounted for nearly 40 percent of all new vehicle registrations during the 2000 model year (19 percent and 18 percent, respectively), as manufacturers refine product offerings that cater to a large, ageing group of consumers with strong purchasing power.
