MALAYSIA: Perodua unveils latest offering.
The Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad was in attendance for the launch. The 1-litre Kenari is the fourth vehicle in the Perodua stable.
Described by the company as a `Multi-Usage Mini Wagon`, the Kenari comes in three versions - the EX, GX and the EZ, with both the EX and GX models offering 5-speed manual transmission while the EZ is available only as a 4-speed automatic.
Making its debut at the Birmingham Motor Show in October, the Kenari will be offered at around £6,800 for UK customers.
Malaysia`s biggest car producer, Proton, has been subject to substantial aid and assistance in Malaysia. The advent of the Kenari marks a significant step for the smaller Perodua maker.
