Lowell Paddock, a 20-year General Motors veteran, will take over as president and managing director of GM's India operations from 1 January. He succeeds Karl Slym who moves to China as executive vice president of GM's joint venture with SAIC-Wuling. Slym has headed up GM's India operations since October 2007.
