President Obama is to name auto industry adviser Ron Bloom as the administration's manufacturing czar today.

In the new role he will be responsible for creating policies to boost the long-struggling industries of America's manufacturing sector.

"Ron has the knowledge and experience necessary to lead the way in creating the good-paying manufacturing jobs of the future," Obama said in a statement
