MEXICO: Nissan shuts two plants for a week
Nissan's Mexican operation is closing two plants for seven days due to a slump in U.S. demand for the Sentra compact, plant union representative Alfredo Gonzalez Gonzalez said. The union spokesman said 12,000 workers at the two factories - a car assembly plant and a components plant - fear that the shutdowns are a prelude to job cuts.
