According to a Reuters report, shares in Italy's Fiat gained on Monday as investors bet an emerging rescue plan by takeover expert Roberto Colaninno would inject new cash into the crisis-hit car maker. Reuters said Fiat stock rose as much as 6% on the first trading since Colaninno, lauded for his ground-breaking takeover of Telecom Italia in 1999, confirmed he would present a new recovery plan for Fiat.
