USA: Navistar International Springfield heavy truck axe to cost about 800 jobs - report
The decision to end production of heavy-duty trucks at the International Truck and Engine Corporation plant in Springfield, Ohio, will result in the loss of 750 to 800 jobs, the company said, according to Associated Press (AP). International spokesman Kyle Rose told AP that most of the job cuts, which amount to nearly one-quarter of the plant's work force, will occur on September 6. The rest will come in the following weeks.
