RUSSIA: Michelin reports Russian tyre output up 11.6%
Michelin has reported that its output of tyres in Russia is up 11.6% in the first half of the year (over the same period of last year) to 597,000 tyres.
Russia's vehicle market this year is in recovery from severe recession, helped by a scrappage scheme that has kick-started demand for new cars, especially those produced in Russia.
Analysts say that aftermarket demand in Russia is also picking up this year after many owners of vehicles delayed spending last year.
Michelin has a tyre plant in the Moscow Region.
