Mercedes-Benz has revamped its used van operation here in the UK.

Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, headed by managing director Steve Bridge, is now fully responsible for the remarketing of 'pre-owned' vans, taking over from Mercedes-Benz Used Commercial Vehicles (Vans and Trucks) at the company facility in Wentworth Park, near Barnsley, Yorkshire.

Mick Glover has been named used remarketing manager, Mercedes-Benz Vans, running wholesale and retail sales, sales administration, defleet and logistics, dealer targeting and RV portfolio management.

The automaker said he would implement and control processes for used vans "ensuring high stock turn, tight financial controls, maximising sales values whilst also ensuring the department delivers excellent customer service to the dealer network".

Glover said: "The used van market in the UK is around three times bigger than the new van market, so there is a fantastic opportunity now to maximise our strength in this area.

"The right vehicle for a customer may well be a used one, and we are committed to helping people find the right vehicle for their needs."

Glover has worked with dealers in the Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle business for 20 years and has extensive experience of dealing directly with fleet and retail customers. His most recent role was as head of service quality for Mercedes-Benz Vans.
