UK: Lear opening seat plant to supply Jaguar

Lear Corporation will open a new just-in-time factory in England's West Midlands, adding 60 jobs to supply F-type seats to Tata Motors' Jaguar Land Rover.

The Jaguar F-type is scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2013.

"I'm pleased to announce our new site that will open in the first quarter of 2013 at Lear's new location 1.5 miles north of Coventry city centre," said Lear's Europe and Africa seating chief Gideon Jewel.

Other Lear UK facilities are a technical centre and offices in Coventry and a vehicle foam manufacturing plant near Nissan's car plant in Sunderland, northeast England.
