SOUTH KOREA: Kia November sales surge 53.2%

Kia Motors' global sales last month surged 53.2% to 152,826 units.

By region, the Hyundai Motor affiliate posted year on year increases in China, Korea, Europe, general markets and North America.

In the first 11 months of 2009, global sales rose 17% to 1,489,204 units. China saw the highest gain with 221,722 units sold, up 65.2%.

Korea, general markets, and North America booked rises of 26.8% (366,229 units), 14.7% (275,105) and 9.5% (322,488), respectively. 

To date in 2009, Kia's best selling model in overseas markets has been the C-segment Cerato (aka Spectra or Forte) with 269,864 units sold.

Kia Motors (UK) MD Michael Cole said: "Kia will achieve record sales figures in the UK this year. We've also grown our share of the non-scrappage retail market by nearly 0.5% over last year."
