Ho Sung Song is Kia Europe's new president replacing Byung-Tae (Brandon) Yea

Kia Motors Europe announced Ho Sung Song is the unit's new president "with immediate effect" replacing Byung-Tae (Brandon) Yea.

Song has held several senior roles within Hyundai and Kia since joining Hyundai Motor Company in 1988. He will be based in Frankfurt.

Song held several senior management positions before being appointed president of Kia Motors France in 2007 for nearly three years. He subsequently headed Kia Motors' export planning group and next took up a role at Hyundai Motor Group's business improvement groups in 2012.

Yea headed Kia Motors Europe for two years as sales rose from 295,000 in 2011 to 338,000 in 2012 and market share from 2.2 to 2.7%.

He will now take up a global role and responsible for commercial vehicle export business back at Hyundai in Seoul, Korea.
