Johnson Matthey's revenue for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2015 was down 9.82% year on year to GBP10.05bn compared with GBP11.15bn in the same period a year ago.

Operating profit was up 18.9% to GBP532.8m from GBP448.2m. Profit before tax was up 21.9% to GBP495.8m compared with GBP406.6m. Profit for the year was up 26.2% to GBP427.3m compared with GBP338.7m in the year ago period.


The catalyst specialist has sold its gold and silver refining business and is "in advanced negotiations" to sell the research chemicals unit. As a result, the company expects performance in 2015/16 to be "slightly ahead" of 2014/15.
