Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HDI - news) today announced record sales and earnings for its third quarter ended September 24, 2000. The Company's third quarter sales were $714.1 million, an increase of 14.6 percent over the third quarter last year. Diluted earnings per share for the third quarter were 27 cents, a 27.7 percent increase compared with last year. "Demand for our motorcycles has continued to exceed supply, even as we continue to increase our production capacity," said Jeffrey L.
