UK: Govt. rescue package for Nissan?
An aid package of almost £100 million is reportedly being prepared for Nissan`s Sunderland plant by the UK Government, according to the Sunday Times (2/7/00). The newspaper says that the offer is to made at a meeting to be held soon between Nissan`s President Carlos Ghosn and the UK Government, including Prime Minister Tony Blair and Trade and Industry Secretary Stephen Byers.
