Just as exports to the key United States market begin, the union at GM Daewoo Auto & Technology, the South Korean car making affiliate of General Motors, is considering a strike to press for a 24.3% wage hike, a GM Daewoo spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires on Tuesday. About 10,000 unionised workers at GM Daewoo will vote on Thursday on whether to go ahead with the walkouts, the spokesman, who declined to be named, told the news agency, adding that the specific schedule of the possible strike is not yet determined.
