GM and Avtotor are expected on November 21 to open a new plant in Kaliningrad (a Russian enclave on the Baltic) that will produce Chevrolet Lacetti cars.

General Motors Daewoo Auto and Technology and Avtotor signed the agreement to set up the plant in December 2006.

The production capacity of the plant is expected to amount to 15,000 Chevrolet Lacettis per year.

Kaliningrad-based Avtotor currently assembles Chevrolet Aveo, Lacetti, Epica, and Rezzo cars.
