UK-based GKN (maker of Constant Velocity Joints and torque management devices) says it has successfully developed and applied a new 'sector leading' third generation of technology for its "GI" tripod plunging joint product family. This joint type can be used on the gearbox side of sideshafts to smoothly transmit engine power and accommodate length and angle changes in sideshafts that are a result of steering and suspension movements, the company says.
