GM is hoping to break even in calendar year 2000 if it achieves the sales target of about 10,500 cars, the company's President and Managing Director Richard Swando said Wednesday. GM began its India operations in 1997 and makes the Opel Astra and Corsa cars here. GM Monday slightly revised its sales target for calendar 2000. It now hopes to sell 7,000 units of the Corsa and about 3,200-3,500 units of the Astra car.
