CANADA: Ford tops sales chart again
Ford again topped Canadian sales charts for a second consecutive month last month, after its sales soared over 47% year on year as rivals tallies slumped.
Ford sold 26,788 vehicles in Canada in July, down slightly June volume, the company said in a statement. Its light truck sales rose 60% and year to date volume was up 2.3%.
Overall, though, Canada sales fell 6.4% to 139,900 units, according to DesRosiers Automotive Consultants. It was the ninth straight month of year on year declines but the third strongest month of this year so far, Reuters noted.
General Motors Canada sales fell 42% to 19,663 cars and trucks in July, Toyota Canada volume dipped 12.5% to 19,232, Honda sales were down 19% to 12,984 units and Chryslersales dropped 10.4% to 15,958 vehicles.
