EXCLUSIVE: BRAZIL: Ford exports up 45% in 2001
Ford do Brasil exports of vehicles and components increased 45 percent to $US440 million last year, writes Rogerio Louro Alves. In 2000, exports reached $US303 million. Mexico was Ford Brazil's biggest market in 2001, taking 60 percent of exports mostly in the form of the Ka subcompact and the Courier pickup which is based on an older model Fiesta. Mexico also imports Brazilian engines.
