FRANCE: Faurecia strikers agree deal
Workers at Faurecia's loss-making plant in Auchel, northern France, on strike since March 5, resumed work on Tuesday after they agreed to accept compensation of EUR3,000 per person.
Workers protested against the decision of the PSA supplier unit to close down the unit by the end of 2010 as it was no longer profitable.
The move would see 179 jobs axed and redeploy the remaining 329 to two nearby Fauecia sites.
The temporary halt of Auchel output hit customer plants operated by Toyota, Renault and Volvo, which almost halted their vehicle assembly for a week, La Tribune reported.
