AUSTRALIA: Even if Mitsubishi exits, Toyota won't leave - Toyota chairman
Toyota chairman Hiroshi Okuda has said that the company will continue to make cars in Australia. His comments were reported in The Australian Financial Review. Mr Okuda told the newspaper that the possible closure of Mitsubishi Motor Australia's (MMAL) manufacturing facility in Australia from 2005 onwards would cause difficulties for remaining carmakers in terms of higher costs. However, he reportedly said that Toyota would stay on anyway.
