Daimler is recalling about 190,000 M-Class and M-Class AMG offroaders in the United States and Germany over a problem with the cruise control.

According to Daimler, applying the brakes could fail to disengage the cruise control in some vehicles and lead to a crash.

The recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday, covers M Class and M-Class AMG units made from 1999 to 2004, Financial Times Deutschland reported. About 50,000 units are affected in Germany and 136,750 in the United States.

Daimler said the problem has not led to any crashes.

The M-Class is made in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
