USA: Crash test shows '03 Navigator SUV riskier to car drivers than '99 model - paper
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday that a crash test of the 2003 Lincoln Navigator sport utility vehicle indicated that it had become more harmful to people riding in passenger cars than the 1999 model, the New York Times (NYT) reported. The newspaper said the finding was significant because the Navigator, a large luxury SUV, has been marketed by Ford as a vehicle redesigned in ways that made it less dangerous to passenger car occupants in two-vehicle collisions.
