Continental Teves, the brake and chassis unit of Continental AG, has dedicated a new 25,000 square foot, $US20 million wheel speed sensor plant in Silao, Mexico.

The new plant joins four existing plants located in the United States and will produce sensors for anti-lock brake systems.

Wheel speed sensors manufactured at Silao will be used by the company's electronic brake systems plant in Morganton, North Carolina.

Continental recently acquired Temic, the electronics maker, including its plant in Cuautla, Mexico.
