US: Chrysler spending $800m upgrading transmission plants

Chrysler on Wednesday said it would spend US$300m on two existing transmission manufacturing facilities in Kokomo, Indiana, to build a new, highly fuel-efficient eight-speed automatic transmission for future Chrysler Group vehicles.

US: November another good sales month
November was another good month for automakers. According to Ward's, more than 869,000 cars and light trucks left dealer lots, down 8.2% compared to October but 12.0% ahead of November 2009.
