EXCLUSIVE: INDIA: Car sales up by 32 percent in April
The first month of the '04 fiscal year has started on the right note for the Indian automotive industry as passenger car sales shot up by 32 percent, thus continuing the positive trend from the last fiscal year. According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), a total of 56,272 units were sold in April 2004 as compared to 42,499 units in the same month last year.
