AUSTRALIA: Bridgestone plans to lock out tyre workers in dispute - report
Japanese tyre maker Bridgestone's 60%-owned Australian unit plans to lock out workers at its Salisbury tyre manufacturing plant in South Australia from August 12 to 27 as it seeks to gain leverage in an ongoing labour dispute, Dow Jones said. In a statement cited by Dow Jones, Bridgestone Australia said it has the necessary tyre inventory to ensure that supplies to vehicle manufacturers won't be disrupted.
