Auto-Asia online reports that two Japanese tyre manufacturers, Bridgestone Corp. and Toyo Tyre & Rubber Co. are set to pump up their Chinese output plans in order to meet local market demand. The Auto-Asia report says that Bridgestone plans to lift output in China by about 40% by 2004 and that production at its Tianjin plant, which makes passenger car tyres, will be increased 30% to a daily rate of about 13,000 tyres.
