US: BMW recalls 150,000 vehicles on fuel pump concerns
BMW is recalling around 150,000 vehicles in the US market because of possible fuel pump failure.
The first of two recalls is for around 130,000 vehicles made between 2007 and 2010 with twin-turbo six cylinder engines. These will get software updates and a high-pressure fuel pump may be replaced.
BMW said that it expected to replace the pumps in 40,000 of the 130,000 vehicles.
The second recall is of 20,000 2008 model year X5 SUVs with different six cylinder engines on which low pressure fuel pumps will be replaced.
