Audi has launched its Q3 compact SUV in India with with two variants, giving it a new entry level line alongside the A4 sedan.

But only 500 units were available for the first phase of 'booking' at 19 dealers.

“The launch of the Audi Q3 is in line with our top-down strategy for India. It leads the way for the four rings to enter a new segment in India with ever increasing customer groups demanding for luxury mobility in a compact form,” Michael Audi India chief Michael Perschke told .

The well equipped Q3 competes with BMW's X1 and has a two-litre turbodiesel engine and four wheel drive.
