Audi's Hungarian unit will lay off 20% of its temporary workforce from November, in response to lower orders.

200 of the 5,899 staff are temporary - so 40 will lose their jobs.

An Audi Hungary spokesman told Reuters that it would be a question of not extending the contracts of 40 of the total 200 temporary workers employed.

Audi Hungary expects to produce 1.9m engines this year, and 60,000 new cars.
